We like to keep the backbar as fresh as possible, and some bottles go quicker than others (Dornoch, Springbank, etc), but that doesn’t mean that everything else isn’t worth a punt. So, in the spirit of always wanting people to discover new drams, we came up with the idea of a heavily discounted random selection box (partly inspired by the Mystery Malts from Thompson Bros!).
What this entails is that we will pick what would ordinarily be £80+ of drams on the bar, and you’ll get them for £50. We will likely aim for 8-10 drams per pack, but this could differ ever so slightly.
Does this mean that you’re going to dump the stuff nobody wants on us?
No. If you know us, you know we only stock interesting and quality stuff, the issue is that we have a strong regular customer base, so once they’ve tried something they want to move onto something else, and we’ve got a lot of bottles for them to get through! So most stuff takes a big hit straight away, then it slows down. The mystery box will allow us to keep the backbar as fresh as possible, and give you a good deal in the meantime - you may even get something seriously good!
Got a preference? Say for example you don’t like peat, or you love ex-Sherry, or American, just drop us a message straight after your order and let us know. “Hi, my name … and I’ve just ordered a mystery box, can you lean more towards x type of whisky” and we’ll be happy to do that.
We’re going to keep this is a permanent thing going forward, and of course if you want to add any other drams on then that is perfectly fine too.
