This one is a first for HopScotch. We will be hosting Luke from Gordon & MacPhail who will be guiding us through a 5 dram tasting of bottles from G&M.
Gordon & MacPhail first came on the scene in 1895 as a grocer in the heart of Speyside. Stocking various products from around the world such as tea, coffee, wine, and what we’re most concerned about…whisky.
Over the years relationships between distilleries and management at G&M were built, and the company managed to build on their whisky stocks, laying down large quantities of liquid in the 20s, 30s, and the beginning of the 40s. When WWII kicked off in 1945, G&M were fortunate enough to survive this period, when rationing meant that distilling of malt whisky came to an almost complete stop.
Today Gordon & MacPhail are well known amongst whisky enthusiasts all over the world. They are in possession of some of the worlds oldest and most revered whiskies in the world, including some casks of Glenlivet that were laid down in 1940.
I am really looking forward to this tasting and I am sure you are too. Tickets are £40 per person.
Our website has had an upgrade so you no longer need to purchase tickets separately - you can purchase up to 4 tickets at once.
See you there!
